Police Officers Who Forcefully Collected N29m From Abuja Businessman, Arrested
The Force Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Police, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has announced the arrest of some of the officers who forcefully obtained N29.9 million from an Abuja based businessman.
Taking to his X handle @HarrisonBbi18, the victim narrated in a video how on January 25, 2024, an Abuja based businessman was abducted by some armed policemen while on his way to one of his sites in the FCT.
He said that the police officers in uniform reportedly scan through the victim’s mobile phones and detained him until he transferred all the money in his bank account to them.
In a sharp reaction to the X post in the comments section, the FCT police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, wrote saying; “Please kindly assist the police by telling the victim to come see me personally (PPRO FCT Police Command) with the evidence of transactions at FCT Police Command.
“We need your cooperation to bring erring officers like this to book. Or you can call this number: 09022222352.”
Giving an update on the incident in a post on his official X on Tuesday, the FPRO ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, disclosed that some of the suspects have been arrested, adding that investigation is still ongoing.
Sharing the post, Adejobi wrote: “We are making headway on this matter, and justice will be served, as some suspects have been arrested. Hakuna matata.”
