Possible Terror Attacks: US Warns Citizens In Nigeria
The United States (US) Embassy on Sunday night warned Americans residing in Nigeria against possible terror attacks in the country, especially within Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)
The warning, contained in an information sheet released to its citizens across the country read thus; “There is an elevated risk of terror attacks in Nigeria, specifically in Abuja.
“Targets may include but are not limited to government buildings, places of worship, schools, markets, shopping malls, hotels, bars, restaurants, athletic gatherings, transport terminals, law enforcement facilities, and international organisations.”
This is as the statement further said; “The US Embassy will offer reduced services until further notice.”
Accordingly, it advised citizens to avoid all non-essential travel or movement; stay alert; avoid crowds; review personal security plans and keep a cell phone charged in case of emergency; carry proper identification.
However, efforts at confirming the development with the Force Headquarters (FHQ) in Abuja did not yield the expected results as messages sent to the Police Spokesperson over the development were yet to receive responses as of the time of this report.
