- Confirms working with other security agencies to maintain peace
The Department of State Services (DSS) has called for calm and enjoined Nigerians to remain alert and assist security agencies with useful information regarding threats and suspicious criminal acts around them.
The DSS call followed the security advisory issued on Sunday by the United States Embassy in Abuja urging citizens to be on the alert for a possible strike by terrorist groups.
In a statement, the Public Relations Officer of the DSS, Dr. Peter Afunanya said that the Service received several enquiries relating to the security advisory issued by the US Embassy in Abuja.
Afunanya noted that the Service had variously issued similar warnings in the past and therefore urged residents of Abuja to take necessary precautions and remain alert.
The DSS assured that it is working with other law enforcement agencies and stakeholders to maintain peace and order in and beyond Abuja.
