BY AMOS DUNIA, ABUJA – Yusuf Buhari, the son of President Muhammadu Buhari, who had a Power Bike accident on Tuesday night around Gwarimpa in the Federal Capital City, Abuja, is now in a stable condition after an emergency surgery.

Yusuf is believed to have broken a limb and had an injury to the head as a result, a situation that led to his being rushed to a clinic in Abuja where surgery was immediately carried out on him.

A statement by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu said President Buhari and his wife, Mrs Aisha Buhari, are thankful to Nigerians for the good wishes and prayers for their son.

However, Forefront gathered that an Air Ambulance is being arranged to fly Yusuf out of the country for further medical attention.

Yusuf was believed to have suffered a head injury and multiple fractures, following a power bike crash in Abuja.

An eye witness, who preferred anonymity told Forefront News that the unfortunate crash occurred on Tuesday night when Yusuf was on a Power Bike racing with a friend in the capital city.

He said that it did not take long after the Power Bikers overtook them that they saw the one behind attempting to overtake his colleague when he veered off the road and skidded into the concrete pavement.

“We rushed there and his friend made a U-turn and came. It was at that point that we got to know that his name is Yusuf, the son of President Buhari. From every indication, he was unconscious for a while as someone put a call to his Mum.

“I want to believe that she gave directives on what should be done and before we knew it, help came fast and he was moved to an unknown Hospital”, the eyewitness said.
