BY COBHAM NSA, ABUJA – President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday approved the appointment of Barrister Amos Isaac Azi as the new Chairman and Chief Executive Officer for the Investments and Securities Tribunal (IST).
Before this appointment, Azi was a management staff of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)
A statement from the IST said Mr Azi’s “appointment is for an initial period of five (5) years in accordance with the provisions of Sections 275(2) and 277(1) of the Investments & Securities Act (ISA), 2007.
The statement said; “The appointment is with effect from 17th July, 2020.”
Also, the President has approved the re-appointment of Barrister Nosa Osemwengie as full time member of the Investments and Securities Tribunal, for a second and final term of four (4) years.
His appointment is said to be in accordance with the provisions of Section 277 (2) of the Investments & Securities Act (ISA), 2007.
A statement by the Head of Corporate Affairs Department of IST indicated that “The appointment is with effect from 1st August, 2020.”
