President Buhari, Atiku Sympathise With Governor Fintiri Over Mother’s Death

President Muhammadu Buhari and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar have condoled with Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State over the transition of his mother, Hajiya Fatima Umaru Badami at the age of 68.

While commiserating with the family of the governor, the government and people of the State, President Buhari said he received the sad news with shock.

President Buhari enjoined Governor Fintiri and all those who mourn Hajiya Fatima, to be consoled by the knowledge that “she lived a godly life devoted to service to her immediate community and the less-privileged in the society.”

He prayed God to give solace to the mourners and accept the soul of Hajiya Fatima.

Similarly, former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar expressed his deepest condolences to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri over the loss of his mother, Hajiya Fatimah Umaru.

A statement by the Atiku Media Office, the Waziri Adamawa who had earlier spoken to Governor Fintiri over the telephone, acknowledged that every death diminishes our humanity, but that there can be no loss like that of a mother.

The former Vice President noted the role of Hajiya Umaru in shaping Governor Fintiri into who he is.

He counseled Fintiri to take solace in the fact that his mother lived a fruitful and rewarding life as a community leader and devout Muslim.

Atiku said; “Hajiya Fatimah Umaru was an exemplary disciplinarian. The way she brought you up is manifesting in your public service disposition. You are the legacy that she has left behind”.

He prayed that Allah will forgive her sins and grant her Aljannah Firdaus just as he condoled with the Fintiri family and the Adamawa State Government over the loss.
