President Buhari Presides Over Crucial Security Meeting
BY VICTOR BUORO, ABUJA – President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday presided over a crucial Security Council meeting with all the nation’s security chiefs and relevant cabinet Ministers in attendance.
In a statement, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, said that the President will be brought up to speed on developments at the meeting, adding that other plans to bring a decisive end to the challenges of insecurity will be formulated.

Forefront News gathered that the meeting was summoned by the President to take stock of developments with regards to prevailing insecurity challenges in most parts of the country and to find appropriate measures at effectively combating the situation.
Expectedly, the meeting is likely to discuss the massive surrendering of members of the Boko Haram terrorists groups, increase in banditry and kidnappings and how to possibly end the war against terror in the country.
The meeting is also expected to deliberate on the successes so far recorded by the security agencies in the fight against terrorists, banditry and other forms of criminality.
Present at the meeting were Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, Chief of Staff to the President, Secretary to Government of the Federation, Ministers of Defence, Justice, Interior, Police, Foreign Affairs, National Security Adviser and the Service Chiefs led by the Chief of Defence Staff.
Others include the Inspector General of Police, Directors General, Department of state Services and The National Intelligence Agency, Chief of Defence Intelligence in addition to other stakeholders.
