Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has said that the Prophet Mohammed’s teachings of love, peace, justice and sacrifice, are major contributors to nation-building.
Governor Alia who stated this while felicitating with Muslims in the state, Nigeria and across the world, on the occasion of the 2026 Eid-el-Fitr celebration, encourages all Muslim Ummah to embrace the lessons, blessings and the spiritual benefits of Ramadan in their daily living,
He said; “I felicitate with all Nigerians, especially our Muslim brothers and sisters in the State, on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Fitri celebrations.
“As we celebrate Eid-el-Fitri, it is my hope and prayer that Ramadan’s spiritual lessons and the Holy Prophet’s teachings of love, justice, fairness, equity, peaceful co-existence with others, tolerance, honesty and dedication to duty, will remain with us all for the benefit and greater glory of our dear nation”.
Alia also reminded all Nigerians of the importance of respecting the faith and beliefs of all, thus urged all Muslims to use the celebration for sober reflection, praying for peace, unity and progress of the State and nation.
A statement by Sir Tersoo Kula, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Benue State, stated that Governor Alia wishes all the Muslim faithful, a memorable Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
