PSC Approves Redeployment Of 4 CPs
The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the redeployment of four Commissioners of Police for a more effective and efficient policing in line with its commitment to re-engineer the police force for optimal results.
Announcing the redeployment on Wednesday in a press statement signed by its spokesman, Ikechukwu Ani, the PSC said those affected by the redeployment include “CP Johnson Babatunde Kokumo, the Commissioner of Police, Armament, who is now in charge of the Edo State Command; and CP David A. Akinremi, Commissioner of Police/Deputy Force Secretary, who has been moved to head the Taraba State Command.”
Others are “Ag CP Garba Baba Umar, redeployed from Bayelsa State Command to Anambra State Command; and CP Lawan Ado, Commissioner of Police, General Investigation, FCIID, who has been posted to head the Kwara State Command.”
The postings have been communicated to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) for implementation in a letter signed by Musa Istifanus, Permanent Secretary/Secretary to the Commission.
Chairman of the Commission, Sir Dr. Mike Mbama Okiro, who is a retired Inspector General of Police, urged the affected officers to rededicate themselves to the service of the nation. He directed that they should quickly settle down and face squarely the peculiar challenges of their respective State Commands adding that they would be held responsible for any proven act of omission or commission in their states.
