PSC Okays New Police AIGs, Commissioners’ Postings

BY EDMOND ODOK, ABUJA – With less than nine days to the presidential and National Assembly elections on February 16, the Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the reshuffling and redeployment of Senior Officers to Police Zones, Formations and Commands across the country.

The development follows recommendations to the Commission by the acting Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed A Adamu.

A statement conveying the development by the Force spokesman, Acting Commissioner of Police (ACP), Frank Mba, indicated that former chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Lamorde is now heading the Force Intelligence Bureau (FIB).

The statement also showed that Mu’azu Zubairu replaces Edgal Imohinmi as the new Police Commissioner in Lagos. However, Imohinmi’s new position was not reflected on the list

Also, Kayode Egbetokun, a former chief security officer in Lagos State, whose initial posting to replace Imohinmi in Lagos, was now reversed, is now the new acting Police boss in Kwara State, while Akeem Odumosu, formerly in charge of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) in Lagos, is now in Edo State as acting Commissioner of Police.

According to the Force spokesman, the IGP has charged all the AIGs and CPs to diligently and professionally discharge their duties in line with extant Laws, Rules and Regulations of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

He explained that the new postings and redeployment of the affected Senior Police Officers are with immediate effect
