Punch Chairman Wale Aboderin Dies @ 60

The chairman of Punch Newspapers, Mr. Gbadebowale Wayne Aboderin is dead. He was 60 years old.

His death was announced today by the newspaper. According to the newspaper, Aboderin died early today after a heart surgery at the First Cardiology Consultants, Ikoyi, Lagos.

Late Aboderin attended Government College, Ibadan and trained as a pilot in the United States. He was also the Chairman, Punch Commercial Printing Limited and Lukahed Properties Limited.

A sports enthusiast and philanthropist, Aboderin was the founder and Chairman of Dolphins Female Basketball Foundation (DFBF), and also a former Chairman of Lagos State Basketball Association (LSBA).

A one-time Vice-President of the Nigerian Basketball Supporters Club (NBSC), he is survived by his wife, Titilayo, and children. – NAN
