A rampaging Nigerian Army personnel has killed three civilians and injured about 13 others in the Mafa Local Government Area of Borno State.
Reports indicate that the victims were killed when the soldier (name withheld) ran amok and ‘recklessly’ opened fire at random on some residents in Mafa town late on Wednesday, March 23, 2022.
According to some eyewitnesses’ accounts, the gun-wielding soldier, currently serving with the Operation Hadin Kai troops, was under the influence of psychotropic substances.
It was gathered that after much effort, military authorities were able to eventually disarm, and arrest the temporarily out-of-control army man.
This is as competent sources hinted that the Army later arranged for the injured persons to be treated in the nearby Military hospital
