Former chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Attahiru Jega says President Muhammadu Buhari should withdraw Lauretta Onochie as a National Commissioner to shield the electoral body from the public loathing.

Jega said having a rethink on Onochie’s nomination would prevent erosion of public confidence and trust in the Commission and its processes.

This is as the ex-INEC boss also cautioned the National Assembly against confirming the appointment of Onochie who is a well-known aide of Mr President.
