Respect For Single Mums, No Way – Reno Omokri

Not one that takes the back seat in controversies, Reno Omokri, former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has again stirred up a hornets’ nest with harsh words for the growing numbers of single mothers.

Taking to the social media to criticise the spiralling baby mama epidemic, Reno said there is no space and time for him to sympathise and encourage any single mother.

However, there are exceptions as he confirmed that it is only necessary to sympathize with single mothers who were either raped or widowed not those that deliberately become one out of choice.

According to Omokri, women who have children out of wedlock should not be treated like casualties.

The social media commentator said the society should not encourage the baby mama syndrome that is fast becoming a debilitating culture amongst black people.

Omokri therefore insisted that well-meaning people and organizations should openly distance themselves from the ugly practice to curb its disturbing spread and danger to society.

Also, the human rights activist does not have kind words for Nigerian and other celebrities across the world who are unfortunately celebrating the creepy development.

He admonished celebrities to always deploy their platforms to lecture as well as enlighten their followers rather than feed them nefarious ideologies.

Reno’s message as captured on his Twitter handle; “Except she was raped or widowed; I have zero sympathies for single mothers. The Black world faces a baby mama epidemic.

“We must not encourage it; or make celebrities out of bleached, surgically enhanced Jezebels who are unashamed of their whoredom!”

Omokri, who is the founder of #Free Leah Sharibu Movement, said it is most ideal that women develop self-respect for themselves while desisting from the entitlement mentality that some are currently holding on to doggedly.
