Details emerging from the National headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), indicated that before the National Working Committee of the Party wielded the big stick against its National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, who was slammed with a one-month suspension, he had been issued with a warning letter on September 30, 2025.

Specifically, the embattled Anyanwu and the National Organizing Secretary, Mr. Umar Bature were both queried and issued warning letters by members of the NWC over what was considered anti-party activities.

The previously undisclosed correspondence, a copy which was availed Forefront News clearly indicated that the warning preceded the eventual suspension of both Anyanwu and Bature from their positions on November 1, 2025.

The warning letter signed by 14 members of the NWC, cited allegations of misconduct, including unauthorized communications, anti-party activities and actions that undermined party unity and protocols.

The warning letter served as a final caution to Anyanwu and Bature, and urged the duo to make amends and should immediately comply with the directives of the National Working Committee to avert further disciplinary measures.

However, in spite of the warnings, the duo of Anyanwu and Bature continued their involvement in activities deemed disruptive which led to the decision of the NWC to take the decisive position by slamming them with suspensions which was announced by the PDP leadership on Saturday, November 1, 2025.

Information put together by Forefront News indicated that national leadership of the PDP insisted on ensuring commitment to upholding internal discipline, party democratic processes and transparency, thus would not succumb to the antics of some few officers that have allowed themselves to be used by external forces to destabilise it.

A close source to the PDP leadership who does not want his name in print, told Forefront News that the proactive steps by the NWC, including the issuance of the warning letters to Anyanwu and Bature, demonstrated the PDP’s resolve to safeguard its integrity ahead of upcoming national engagements.
