Following what they described as the gruesome murder of their son, late Obinna Okeadu in a Mynmar, Thailand, the family of the victim is demanding a thorough investigation into the circumstances that led to the death of their son in job scam centre where dozens of other Nigerians are believed to be on the danger list.

The Okeadu family in Imo State has therefore asked the federal government of Nigeria to intervene by investigating the circumstances leading to the death of the 33-year-old Mbano born engineer as well as the continued languishing of dozens of Nigerians in notorious under ground job scam centre in Myanmar.

This was as it was gathered that the federal government recently sent the job scam centre parking from Nigeria following reported cases of fraudulent activities including inhuman treatment of workers by the slave camp.

However, the centre quickly relocated to Myanmar where it lured some Nigerians including late Okeadu to join its workforce.

The job scam centre with two bases in Myanmar and Cambodia usually extend invitation to their victims for unspecified job with juicy pay package, but on getting to the slave camp, the story usually take a different turn as the unsuspecting victims are given targets to meet within a specific time frame and failure to meet the set targets, they are either sold off to another similar centre or have their organs harvested to recover their investment which included air fare to Thailand on the unsuspecting victim.

This is as it was gathered that some of the victims are tortured to death if there is any form of suspicion that the victim is unserious with his job.

On the other hand, the centre in a questionable circumstance will hire out its victims to other centre for hard and risky job.

Narrating the ordeal of late Okeadu, a member of his family, Okechukwu Okeadu, told journalists in Abuja at the weekend that his 33-year-old unsuspecting junior brother (Obinna) and other unspecified number of Africans were invited by the company in Myanmar, Thailand to work in a factory.

Obinna was said to have joined the centre in its Myanmar camp in August this year unknown to him that danger lied ahead of him.

According to Okechukwu; “Obinna’s trouble started when he got into the under-ground camp and his immigration documents were taken away from him by the operators who immediately allocated a target to each worker to meet under a specific time allowed by the centre.

“Obinna joined hundreds of young men in a shallow underground apartment where they are not allowed to make or receive calls until they regain their freedom,” he said.

The family is alleging that Obinna may have been injected with dangerous substances which lead him to die slowly, adding that one of the inmates in the job scam centre, had in a secrete message to the family alleged said Obinna died slowly following the substances injected on him by the owners of the centre.

It was further gathered from the secret message that the late Obinna had complained that he was tired and could no longer continue with the task for that day, a development that led his supervisors to descend on him, hitting him with hard object and later injected him.

Accordingly, the family is asking the federal government to urgently intervene in the matter and determine why their son, who is a Nigerian, was subjected to such inhuman treatment.

In the words of Okechukwu; “We were told that Obinna was tortured to a point until urine started dripping from his organ. Another source told us that they may have harvested his organs to recover their investment on Obinna.

Okechukwu said that the family is yet to be officially communicated on whether Obinna is dead or alive by the centre, adding that they would want to the body of Obinna dead or alive.

The family is also drawing the attention that some other Nigerians urgently need help and are desirous of being rescued from the job scam centre in Thailand.
