Ronaldo Eyes Fenerbahce’s Move
BY VICTOR OSOWOCHI – Determined to change his fortunes from being underutilized in Manchester United since the Premiership flagged off, Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly agreed to a deal that will see him packing his bags to join Turkish giants, Fenerbahce.
Taking a late deadline day twist on Thursday, September 1, 2022, reports emerged in Turkey indicating that the 37-year-old Portuguese international may have agreed in principle to ply his trade for Fenerbahce.
According to Ajansspor, only final details were left to be completed in the deal reached between Ronaldo and Fenerbache President Ali Koc before the move can become official.
The reports also hinted that Ronaldo met with Fenerbahce’s manager Jorge Jesus, who was influential in persuading his compatriot to make the switch to the Super Lig, and with the transfer window now closed across Europe’s top leagues, the Yellow Canaries are optimistic about landing him ahead of other suitors.
The transfer market remains open until September 8 in Turkey, which is enough time for Jorge Mendes to seal a move away from Old Trafford for his client, Ronaldo.
Also, the window will also allow Fenerbahce to reach an agreement on an acceptable fee with the Old Trafford Landlords, who have won their last three Premier League games in which Erik ten Hag has named Ronaldo among the substitutes.
