BY EDMOND ODOK, ABUJA – Less than 72 hours to the February 16 presidential poll, the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) has declared its total support for the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari, promising to mobilise 16 million votes for his victory.
National President of RTEAN, Mr Osakpamwan Eriyo, said the association has over 16 million members who are always united in supporting particular candidate during national elections.
He described the President as a ‘man of integrity and honour’ who has the overall interest of Nigeria and Nigerians at heart
Addressing journalists in Abuja on Tuesday, Eriyo said the association’s support for Buhari also stems from the fact that he has done so much for the country, especially in road infrastructure.
According to him, “We have investments in the country and there is peace. If there is no peace, we can’t have investment. We have over 16 million members in Nigeria that is why we urged all of them to vote President Buhari for continuity.
“If we vote for continuity, all the good roads and good projects will continue and that is the reason why we decided to support the president.”
He said RTEAN believes the President Buhari-led All Progressives Congress (APC)’s ‘Next Level’ vision will stabilise and strengthen the country’s economic development gains, especially in the Agriculture and solid minerals sectors.
