Self-Indictment: I Failed As Minister Of Education – Malam Adamu Adamu

Longest serving Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, on Thursday declared that he failed as a Minister having being unable to solve the so many challenges that confronted the education sector.

Adamu, who acknowledged his abysmal performance while addressing the 66th National Council on Education (NCE), in Abuja, did not however state why he did not resign from his position even as he admitted that he had no excuse not to have solved most of the challenges that arose during his tenure as Minister.

The Minister listed some of the challenges to include; “the out-of-school children” which increased during his time in office to that of the “Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU)” in addition to several other challenges affecting the smooth running of tertiary education system in the country.

Adamu however, accused States Ministries of Education of adding to the challenges that made him to fail as the longest serving Minister of Education.
