BY VICTOR BUORO, ABUJA – In line with its avowed commitment to always ensure meticulous but speedy handling of communications from the Executive arm of government, the Senate on Thursday considered President Muhammadu Buhari’s request for confirmation of Adeleke Moronfolu Adewolu as Executive Commissioner of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).
The upper legislative chamber has therefore given its Committee on Communications 14 days for the submission of its report on the nominee to plenary.
President of the Senate, Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan, while referring the President’s confirmation request to the Committee, said; “The request is referred to the committee on communications. You have two weeks to screen the nominee and report back to the Senate.”,
Adewolu is nominated as a replacement for Sunday Dare, who is now the Minister of Youth and Sports Development.
