Senator Sodangi Dies @70

BY SEGUN ADEBAYO, ABUJA – A former senator and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Abubakar Sodangi, has died in the late hours of yesterday, Sunday, at the age of 70, according to close family sources.

Until his death yesterday, he was a three-term senator who represented Nasarawa West Senatorial District at the National Assembly. He was also the Chairman of the Senate Committee on the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) that investigated the then FCT Minister, Mallam Nasir Ahmed el-Rufai and barred him from holding public office.

Sodangi was also the Chairman of the Campaign Council for the re-election of Governor Abdullahi Sule in 2023. The cause of his death remains sketchy as at the time of filing this report.
