BY AHMED TUKUR LAFIA – Former governors of Nasarawa state, Senators Abdullahi Adamu (Nasarawa West) and Umaru Tanko Al-makura (Nasarawa South), have called on political officer holders not to betray their oath of office.
Speaking separately at a reception organized by Doma community in honour of the state Deputy Governor, Emmanuel Akabe in Doma Local
Government Area of the state, the two former governor but now serving senators, urged public office holder not to fail the people by reducing their office to ethnic consideration.
Senator Adamu urged the deputy governor to protect every citizen in the state irrespective of tribe or religion, saying that his oath of office is to protect every citizen.
He called on the deputy governor to add value to the
administration by assisting his principal in ensuring that the people gathered at the event have the confidence of the administration.
Adamu further said; “Assist the governor achieve success by ensuring that the people at this event have confidence in your administration and also carry every section of the community and the society along”
On his part, Senator Al-makura urged the deputy governor to uphold the oath of office he swore to protect, saying that unity is the strength of every community.
Al-makura said that public office is a trust that must be devoid of ethnic coloration, adding that Doma is very strategic in the politics of the state which is why

In his own remarks, the Andoma of Doma, Ahmadu Ogah Onawo extol the good virtues of the deputy governor while thanking the administration for
finding a son of Doma worthy of becoming the state deputy governor.
The Andoma said that Doma people are peace loving and accommodating which is why the people of the Local Government will continue to excel.
