In Kogi state, operatives of the Nigerian Army on Saturday gunned down an unknown ballot thief at Ogege Road, Odaba polling unit in Dekina ward in the State.
Reports indicated that voters in the area had fled from the voting arena following the activities of political thugs who came in large numbers to destroy voting materials and disrupt the process.
However, luck ran out for the thugs, who appeared with machetes and guns snatched ballot boxes, broke chairs, and dispersed voters, as one of them was down by the soldiers’ bullet.
Meanwhile, speculations are rife that INEC may have canceled the election process in seven polling units of the Kogi East Senatorial district.
Reports said while two polling units were canceled in Anyigba, Dekina Local Government Area, the other five were in Omala Council Area of the State and one of the units canceled is Unit 01, Abejukolo ward in Omala LGA.
It was gathered that thugs disrupted activities at the affected polling units, and shot into the air, thereby causing massive panicking that brought the voting process to an abrupt.
