Southern Kaduna: Our Administration Has Zero Tolerance For Discrimination – Gov Uba Sani Assures

BY AMOS TAUNA, KADUNA – Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani has declared that his administration has zero tolerance for discrimination, thus, shall take development to all nooks and crannies of the state.

This was as he assured that his administration will not waiver in its commitment to rebuilding trust, addressing human capital deficits and infrastructure by bringing succour to the poor and vulnerable as well as building the gap between the rural and urban areas in addition to empowering the youths and women.

The Governor said that with the support and cooperation of the people, his government shall make Kaduna State a model for development and peaceful coexistence in Nigeria.

He therefore has urged the people of Southern Kaduna to share their thoughts on developmental challenges facing the people and make further and better recommendations to the government for intervention.

Governor Uba Sani, who stated these at closing ceremony of the maiden Southern Kaduna 3-Day Festival in Kafanchan on Saturday, December 30, 2023, said; “Ours is a listening and people oriented administration. Your welfare and security are our top priorities”.

Sani further said; “Through this festival, l urge you to share thoughts on the developmental challenges facing the people of Southern Kaduna and make further and better recommendations to the government for intervention”.

The Governor noted that the festival was an opportunity for the people of the state to connect with their roots and forge friendship and unite the people through shared experience, music, food and dance.

In his words; “By so doing, the people of the state will foster a sense of community. Our diversity is a source of strength and we must harness it to develop our local economies. We are one people and must never allow conflict entrepreneurs to retard our progress and development”.

Senator Uba Sani announced that he has flag-off rural drive through road constructions and electrification, adding that the state government is in strategic discussion with critical stakeholders towards addressing basic needs of the people.

According to him; “Security is top most in our agenda, we have strengthened our collaboration with the federal security agencies and enhance manpower of the Kaduna state vigilante service with the recruitment of additional 7,000 personnel in order to enhance security network in the state.

“The present administration in Kaduna state wants to leave the state better than the way it met it, believing that the celebration of the festival was an indication that peace is fast returning to every nook and cranny of the state,” he said.

In his own remarks, Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa state, who was Guest of honour at the closing ceremony, said that there is strength is our diversity, adding that the people should encourage those things that build as against those things that divide the citizens.

According to Diri; “As people that have found ourselves in the geographical entity of Nigeria, we must give good leadership and l believed that the governor of Kaduna state has started giving good leadership to the people of the state and we can see that through the gathering of the people of Southern Kaduna”.

He noted that the occasion showed oneness and unity of the people of Southern Kaduna and therefore enjoined them to use their diversity as their strength in order to achieve great things for themselves and their children yet unborn.
