SP Akpabio Unveils Membership Of Special Senate Committees
President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, on Tuesday unveiled the chairmen and members of key standing committees. They include Appropriations, Public Accounts, Ethics, and Public Petitions and Establishment amongst others.
Akpabio, who announced the chairmen and members of the Committees at Tuesday’s plenary session, said Senator Solomon Adeola would chair the Appropriations Committee with the Senate Chief Whip, Senator Ali Ndume as Deputy chairman while Senator Ahmed Wadada is chairman of the Public Accounts Committee which is a statutory committee for the opposition party and Senator Onyeka Peter as deputy.
Other special committees of the Senate as announced by Akpabio included Rules and Business which would be chaired by Senator Titus Zam with the Senate Leader, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele as Deputy while Senator Sunday Karimi would chair the Senate Services with Senator Williams Eteng Jonah as Deputy Chairman.
Similarly, the Ethics and Public Petitions Committee of the Senate would be chaired by Senator Okechukwu Ezea with Senator Khalid Ibrahim Mustapha as Deputy chairman while Senator Buba Umar is chairman of the National Security and Intelligence committee with Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong as Deputy Chairman.
The list also include Legislative Compliance Committee with Senator Garba Musa Maidoki as Chairman and Senator Ede Dafinone as Deputy Chairman.
The Media committee is to be chaired by Senator Adeyemi Adaramodu with Salisu Shuaibu Afolabi as Deputy Chairman.
