Stay Off Anambra Guber Poll – PDP Warns Fraudsters
BY ONYEKACHUKWU IBEZIM – The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has warned that plans by any party or groups to rig and fraudulently write results for November 6, 2021 Anambra State gubernatorial election will be stoutly resisted by the people.
Accordingly, the party National Vice Chairman, South East zone, Chief Ali Odefa cautioned that anyone attempting such undignified act must first ‘write his will’ because there would be dire consequences.
Odefa’s warning came during the PDP South East zone Town Hall meeting at Salt Lake Hotel, Abakaliki, organized at the weekend to honour the Party’s candidate for the Anambra poll, Vincent Ozigbo,.
The National Vice Chairman, who said nobody should dare such pranks as the end result may not be palatable, described Ozigbo as “a child of destiny.”
He told the people thus; “God has blessed you with a gentleman as an incoming Governor. If you write Anambra Election results, you will not leave to see it. Election must be free and fair. You cannot write results again and your votes must count.
“Is not possible to write Ebonyi and Anambra state results. Before you do that, write your will first.”
Odefa urged PDP stakeholders, supporters and the electorate to work hard towards ensuring the party wins in November, adding; “We must vote for PDP in the election. As God will liberate Anambra, he will also liberate Ebonyi State.”
Addressing a large crowd of supporters and well-wishers at the occasion, the PDP standard bearer, Vincent Ozigbo, blamed bad leadership and governance for the poor state of affairs in Nigeria.
He said the cure for Nigeria’s woes lies in ensuring people with vision, empathy and unmatchable good leadership skills are voted into power at all levels of government.
The PDP candidate assured that restoring the lost glory of Anambra State would be his administration’s priority if elected governor come November 6, 2021.
He promised Anambra indigenes in Ebonyi that while in government, all broken down infrastructure of the State would be fixed for effective service delivery.
Further driving his message home, Ozigbo said; “What we are suffering in Nigeria is the consequences of bad leadership. Anambra is supposed to be the light of the nation. The light has become so dime that we begin to wonder.
“It’s time to rekindle the hope and rewrite the narratives. Anambra will soon become the best states in the country. We want to transform Anambra where the infrastructure will begin to work. We have articulated our blueprint for the State.”
Hinting that Ebonyi is the first state visited after his emergence as PDP candidate”, Ozigbo said; “We intend to unify and create good inter-border relationship with other states of the region. When we are done fixing Anambra, you will be proud of it.”
