Sunday Igholo To IGP: Is Murder Of Dr. Aborode By Fulani Herdsman Not A Crime?
BY VICTOR BUORO, ABUJA – Yoruba activist, Chief Sunday Ighoho has asked the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohammed Adamu to tell Nigerians if “it is not a crime for Fulani herdsmen to have murdered Dr. Fatai Aborode after invading his farmland?”
Chief Sunday Ighoho posed the question to IGP Adamu, whom the Presidency said has ordered his arrest.
Igholo, who took to his twitter handle on Saturday night further asked the police boss whether if it was not a crime that a hard working Dr. Aborode, who later went to Sarki Fulani’s house to lay complain that his farmland was destroyed by the herdsmen, was thereafter tied and butchered, yet nothing happened.
Chief Sunday Ighoho tweeted; “And it’s not a crime to Kill Dr. Akorede, whose farm was invaded and destroyed by Fulani cows, later went to Seriki Fulani house to lay complain, but was tied and butchered and nothing happened?”
Chief Sunday Igboho created tension in the country following his ordering of Fulani herdsmen in Igangan, Ibarapa North Local Government of Oyo State to leave the area within seven days.
After the expiration of the 7-days’ notice, Ighoho followed it up by addressing his supporters in Igangan, warning that the Fulanis must leave the town.
The Presidency through the Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari, Mr. Garba Shehu told the BBC Hausa Service that the IGP has ordered the arrest of Igboho on Saturday for giving quit notice to Fulani herdsmen and would be brought to Abuja after his arrest.
