SuperTV Boss’ Murder: Police Nab More Suspects
BY CHINYERE OBIORA – Lagos State Police Commissioner, Hakeem Odumosu on Wednesday said the Command has arrested more suspects in connection with the murder of late SuperTV Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Usifo Ataga.

Amid the ongoing controversy and drama trailing the death of Ataga, the Police Commissioner said investigations were still ongoing with the Command determined to uncover all the events and those connected with the murder.
He stated this at a media briefing and parade of over 1,000 suspects at the Command headquarters in Ikeja.
Odumosu, who failed to give details on the number of suspects so far arrested and their possible connection to the murder, said the case was progressing and the Police would never compromise on it.
Further explaining that Chidinma Ojokwu, 21, was only being held as the prime suspect, with her rights guaranteed by the constitution, the Police boss dismissed insinuations the Command could be compromised in an attempt to give her a soft landing.
“We have established a case of conspiracy in the murder and we have arrested more suspects”, Odumosu said
The 50-year-old Ataga was murdered on June 15 at a short-let apartment where he reportedly spent the weekend with his lover, Chidinma Ojukwu.
However, there seem to be many turns and twists in the story with Ojokwu, considered the lead suspect in the murder case, recently retracting her initial statement admitting to the crime of stabbing Ataga to death.
According to Ojokwu’s initial confessional statement, she had stabbed the deceased severally before stealing his stuff and fleeing the scene of the incident.
But in recanting her earlier account, the suspect informed the Police that on returning from an errand, she entered the room to find Ataga lying in a pool of his blood.
