The Executive Secretary of the Plateau State Christian Pilgrims welfare Board, Rev Fr George Gorap, has called on the Plateau pilgrims currently in the Holy Land to support the state government which has made it possible for them to undertake the spiritual journey to Israel.
According to a statement by the Head of Media of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Celestine Toruka, Gorap enjoined the pilgrims to pray for themselves and for the success of the Governor Simon Lalong-led administration.
He commended the governor for advancing the cause of Christian pilgrimage in Plateau and in Nigeria as a whole.
Urging Lalong to remain focus in his developmental strides, he called on the well-meaning Christians in the state to complement the efforts of the state government by sponsoring Christians who are spiritually rich, but materially poor to perform the holy pilgrimage to Israel.
The cleric also commended the Plateau Pilgrims for their orderly conduct in Israel as “it has always been in the past. The ES explained that his expectations would be to have a spiritually fulfilled pilgrimage anchored on prayers.
He thanked the NCPC for the effective leadership it has put in place to make this year, s pilgrimage a hitch-free exercise.
