For his daring attempt to vandalize electricity infrastructure belonging to the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC), a yet-to-be-identified suspected vandal has been electrocuted in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)
According to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the lifeless body of the suspect has already been recovered by Police operatives.
She said operatives of the Command responded to a distress call on Thursday and discovered the lifeless body near step-down electricity lines at Yakubu Gowon Crescent, Asokoro.
The Command Spokesperson said tools used for the vandalization were also recovered at the scene, adding that the dead man’s accomplice however fled the scene following the tragic incident.
She said the Command strongly warned individuals against engaging in such criminal activities, emphasizing that vandalization of public infrastructure is a grave offence that will not be tolerated within the nation’s capital territory.
The statement further stressed that; “Security operatives remain on high alert to apprehend perpetrators and ensure the protection of critical national assets”.
