Suspected Herdsmen Kill Three In Nasarawa
The culture of bloodbath continued at the weekend as unidentified gunmen launched an attack on Jimin Nyaku in Aloshi chiefdom; and Guidan Ayua in Kadarko area of Keana Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, killing no fewer than three persons identified as belonging to the Tiv ethnic group.
The attackers, suspected to be herdsmen, had launched an assault on Jimin Nyaku at about 6pm on Saturday evening. Victims of the attack included a father and his son.
The President Tiv Youth Organization in Nasarawa State, Peter Ahemba, confirmed the incident. Bodies of victims have been deposited at the mortuary unit of the Dalhatu Araf Specialist hospital, Lafia.
Though another source alleged that six and not three were killed in the attacks, the Nasarawa State Police Command said it only received report that only three persons were killed.
The Police Public Relation Officer, Nasarawa State Command, DSP Idirisu Kennedy, confirmed that, “The Command only received reports about three persons killed in the areas.”
The Nasarawa Police spokesman said the command was yet to make any arrest.
