Taraba Speaker, Others Congratulate Governor Ishaku On Victory At Election Tribunal
BY AMEH IDUJAGI – JALINGO The Speaker of the Taraba State House of Assembly, Hon Abel Peter Diah, on Friday congratulated Governor Darius Ishaku on his victory at the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal that delivered ruling in Abuja against Prof Sani Hahaya of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Diah told journalists in a telephone chat that the victory would give the governor more time to concentrate on delivering good governance to the people of the state.
He said; “Election cases are so distractive, especially to governance but my earnest believe is that the victory is going to encourage him more to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of the state.”
In his own remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Bureau for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Taraba State, Alhaji Bello Yero, said the governor’s victory would ginger him and his team to work harder without distractions.
Yero thanked the people of the state for standing behind the governor during the 2019 polls, saying they would not regret their decision to vote for the governor.
The permanent secretary called on the aggrieved persons to close ranks and work with the governor for a better state.
Similarly, former Minority Leader of the Taraba State House of Assembly Alhaji Imam Imam, while congratulating Governor Ishaku, described the tribunal’s ruling as victory for democracy.
Meanwhile, the state chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC), has said that it would study the tribunal judgment for further actions.
Spokesperson of the party Mr Aaron Atimas told newsmen on telephone that the party will communicate its next move to the public soon.
