Taraba State Loses Member of State Executive Council To Cold Hands of Death
BY AMEH IDUJAGI, JALINGO – The Taraba State Commissioner for Poverty Alleviation, Mr Naphtali Kefas is dead. He died on Thursday in Jalingo after a protracted illness.
In a condolence message to the chairman and people of Wukari Local Government Council as well as the family of the commissioner, Governor Darius Ishaku said the death of Kefas less than a year after his appointment as a member of the State Executive Council has robbed the state of the services of a patriotic and hardworking gentleman.Ā
This is contained in a statement by the Special Adviser to the governor on Media and Publicity Mr Bala Dan-Abu, in which Governor Ishaku described the late Kefas as very gentle and compassionate, the reason for his posting to the Ministry of Poverty Alleviation to help implement government’s pragmatic programme of giving hope and succour to the poor and the needy.
Forefront News noted that late Kefas was the candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for House of Representative for Wukari/Ibi federal constituency in the 2019Ā general elections but lostĀ toĀ Hon. Danjuma Shiddi of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
Ishaku prayed God to grant members of the immediate family of the late commissioner the fortitude to bear the painful loss.Ā
