Your Team Will Revolutionise NEPZA Operations, Jime Tells Oni
The newly appointed Board Chairman of Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority (NEPZA), Engineer Olusegun Abayomi Oni, has been described as a multi-competent personage whose superintendence of the board will add value to the Authority and revolutionise its operations.
The Managing Director of NEPZA, Hon. Emmanuel Jime, who made this known during his first Interactive Meeting with staff on Tuesday at the Corporate Headquarters, said the coming of the board at this material time would complement the on-going restructuring, re-positioning and re-branding efforts under his watch.
A statement issued by the Head, NEPZA Corporate Communications, Mr. Simon Imobo-Tswam, quotes the managing director as saying the rich experience of the APC Deputy National Chairman (South) and his outstanding members would “accelerate the pace of reforms, innovations and new thinking sweeping through the Authority and its Free Zones.”
Part of the statement reads: “We are delighted with the coming of our long awaited board, chaired by Engr. Segun Oni – one-time governor of Ekiti state and, the current APC Deputy National Chairman (South). We have great expectations from him and his distinguished members: Messrs. Kabiru Tafida, Sadiq H. Gwarzo and Taiwo Okunlola.
“The chairman is a former governor, and with his rich, composite and cosmopolitan experience as a teacher, unionist, journalist, engineer, bureaucrat, technocrat, grassroots mobilizer, entrepreneur, sales specialist, international consultant and honorific chieftaincy title-holder as the Asiwaju of Ifaki-Ekiti, we know he and his able team would revolutionise our operations.”
Jime disclosed of plans to continue with the repositioning and rebranding work he initiated last year upon assumption of office, promising to synergise more with industry stakeholders with a view to giving fillip to the economic diversification agenda of the present administration.
On staff welfare, the managing director reiterated his maxim that “If there is welfare in the house, there would be no warfare,” and pledged to give issues of welfare maximum attention.
