A presidential aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Governor of Rivers State, Mr Nyesom Wike, has declared that there is nothing wrong in agreeing on a consensus candidate as long as such a decision is reached based on equity, justice and fairness.

Wike, who stated this in Minna, the Niger State capital when he went to canvass for support for his aspiration, said the country needs an honest and dedicated leader like him.

In the words of Wike; “The country needs someone who will see white and call it white and (see) black and call it black and that person is me.

“I have been a member of the PDP since 1998; I have never left the party and I will never leave. I can become the President if I get the mandate of delegates to make me the flag-bearer of our party, the PDP.

“I am here today to tell you that I have made myself available to run for the seat of the President of this country under our party, the PDP,” he said.

Taking a look t the situation in the country, Wike scored the present administration of President Muhammadu Buhari very low in security of lives and property, stressing that under the watch of the APC government, killer bandits have overrun the country.

According to him; “People can no longer sleep and travel without the fear of being kidnapped; farmer can no longer go to farm. Niger State is one of the worst hit by insecurity”.

Wike therefore urged the PDP to put him forward as its presidential candidate in 2023,adding that he is capable of dislodging the All Progressives Congress (APC) from power.
