Former Niger Delta militant leader, Asari Dokubo has said that the support being enjoyed by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in an effort to disrupt the peace of Rivers State is not in the best interest of the country.

Dokubo, who stated this when he featured on Arise Television interview programme on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, arned that if the move to impeach Governor Siminalayi Fubara is carried out, there would be serious consequences.

This was as he expressed frustration over the ongoing political turmoil in Rivers State, adding that as a stakeholder in Rivers, he is deeply disappointed that President Tinubu has allowed his minister to act recklessly and threaten the people of Rivers State.

In the words of Dokubo; “I want to tell President Bola Tinubu the truth about what’s happening in Rivers State. He is supporting Nyesom Wike to cause instability and disturb the peace.

“They want to remove Fubara and think nothing will happen. But I am warning that if you try to remove him, something will definitely happen. I’m not speaking for personal gain; I’m not seeking any ministerial position or board appointment,” he said.

Asked if he still believes he should be held accountable if President Tinubu fails to meet the people’s expectations, Dokubo said he still stand by the statemen.

According to him; “I feel responsible for the hopes of all Nigerians, not just those from the Niger Delta. I openly supported Tinubu, and I won’t deny my words.

“Even if Tinubu faces difficulties tomorrow, I will defend him. He stood by me at a time when my life was in danger, and I owe him that loyalty,” he said.
