Tragedy As Bandits Attack Owo, Ondo State Church, Kill Worshippers
Tragedy struck on Sunday as dare devil gunmen invaded and attacked three churches in Owo, Ondo State killing scores of worshippers.
Two of the main churches attacked included “The Saint Francis Catholic Church and a white garment church situated at Owa-luwa axis of the ancient town.
At the end of the attacks, no fewer than 30 worshippers were reportedly killed by the deadly gunmen.
It was also gathered that the gunmen detonated dynamite at the premises of the churches before they started shooting on sight at church members.
The detonated dynamite rocked the St Francis Catholic Church, Owa-luwa Street, in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State leaving several people injured.
One of the eyewitnesses at the scene, Kehinde Ogunkorode told journalists that the incident caused pandemonium in the area as residents, who were taken by surprise, scampered for safety.
It was also gathered that many other casualties were found at the scene behind Olowo of Owo Palace while some people were abducted by the gunmen.
