Tragedy As Drunken Corporal Crushes General In Barracks
Tragedy struck at the Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC) in Lagos on Wednesday with the Nigerian Army Officers Corps losing a Brigadier General to the carelessly of an alleged drunk driver who is an Army Corporal.
Reports said the late Brigadier General Audu Ogbole James, Director of Finance at NAFRC, was hit by the corporal’s vehicle as he was walking back to his residence within the barracks.
The reports further indicated that the said Corporal, Abayomi Ebun, who works at the Nigerian Army Resource Centre (NARC), crushed the General from behind while driving out of the Barracks.
An eyewitness account said General James was immediately rushed to the NAFRC Medical Centre where doctors at the facility confirmed him dead.
The source at the NAFRC Barracks hinted that Ebun was completely “off the limit” driving recklessly at the time the unfortunate incident took place.
According to the source, “He (Ebun) has already been detained by the NAFRC Provost for further investigation.”
