SEGUN ADEBAYO – Military authorities have informed the Kaduna State Government that their troops successfully foiled an attack and neutralized five terrorists at Kwanan Bataro in Giwa local government area of the State.

The Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, said operational feedbacks from the Military indicated that the troops, who were conducting clearance patrols in Giwa Local Government Area, acted promptly after receiving credible intelligence of terrorists’ movement towards Fatika town.

According to him, in response to the information, the troops quickly mobilised to Marke and Ruheya where the outlaws were sighted as they attempted to escape the advancing forces.

The troops however cut off their escape route at Kwanan Bataro and engaged them in a firefight, during which five of the terrorists were neutralized while the troops returned to base after clearing the area.

Aruwan further explained in a statement that “Governor Nasir El-Rufa’i expressed satisfaction at the operational feedback and commended the troops for their proactive and sharp response to the intelligence received.”

The governor also encouraged the troops to keep up the intensity in the ongoing offensives against terrorists in the area, even as he said security forces are sustaining monitoring and patrols in the general area to secure lives and property within the area.
