Troops Storm Kidnappers’ Den In Kaduna, Rescue Victims Unharmed

Troops of Sector 7, Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP) in synergy with the Zango Kataf Police Area Command, Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), Forest Guards and local hunters, acting on credible and actionable intelligence, on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, launched a swift and coordinated offensive into a known kidnappers’ hideout at Badurum Kasa Forest, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

During the operation, the troops and the combination of Zango Kataf Police Area Command, Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), Forest Guards and local Hunters, advanced into the forest and dealt a devastating blow on the criminal elements.

                                               

The operation was carried out at about 1759 hours during which contact was made which expectedly triggered panic among the kidnappers that were unable to withstand the superior fire power and precision of the joint team.

Following the decisive attacks, the kidnappers abandoned their captives and fled in disarray into the surrounding bushes.

Having fled the vicinity, the joint Task Force successful rescued eight kidnapped victims unharmed and reunited them with their families.

                                                                             

The identity of those rescued include Mr Zakari Saleh (52), Mrs Rashida Musa (19), Mr Sophan Idris (18), Mrs Hafsat Nuhu (18), Ahmed Yahaya (14), Salma Yahaya (14), Hasiya Yahaya (13), and Ibrahim Saiba (11).

The action stressed the Nigerian Army’s robust inter-agency synergy, agile ground manoeuvres and relentless resolve to protect lives, secure critical routes and deny criminal elements the freedom of action.
