Unknown Gunmen kidnap Adamawa Monarch Ardo Mustapha

Unknown daredevil gunmen in the early hours of Monday, January 18, 2021 abducted Ardo Mustapha, the traditional ruler of Mayo-Farang in Mayo Belwa Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

Ardo Mustapha, who is the District Head of Mayo-Farang as well as the Sarkin Noman of Adamawa was kidnapped on his return from Abuja.

Sources close to the palace said that there were exchange of fire between the daredevil gunmen and some vigilante members that teamed up with palace guard in an attempt to repel them.

One of the sources told Forefront that; “This is most unfortunate. The kidnappers are yet to contact the family up till this morning”.

However, the Adamawa State Police command spokesman, Suleiman Nguroje while confirming the unfortunate abduction, said that police officers have been drafted to rescue the kidnapped monarch.

According to Nguroje; “On getting the news of the abduction of the traditional ruler, police immediately swung into action and the Commissioner of Police ordered the personnel deployed to rescue him.

“The gunmen are being trailed and by God’s grace the traditional ruler will be rescued”.

While urging residents to provide information to the police, Nguroge said that security must be the concern of everyone thus the people should assist in providing useful information or reporting any suspicious persons around them.
