…Urges Gov Sule to sustain peace in Nasarawa

BY AHMED TUKUR, LAFIA – Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Nasarawa State chapter on Monday said that it employ every legal means to defend its people and property.

MACBAN which stated this while reacting to the position of the leaders of the Middle Belt Forum (MBF), said that the Forum is only out to destabilize Nigerians and set a bad agenda for the country.

The chairman of the Nasarawa State chapter of MACBAN, Bala Mohammed Dabo therefore called on the security agencies to investigate the motive behind the MBF NEC meeting.

The National Executive Council of the Middle Belt Forum last week threatened to respond to any attack on communities in the region.

In a communiqué released at the end of its NEC meeting in Akwanga, the forum urged its members to protect themselves.

The forum expressed dismay over the lackadaisical attitude of the Federal Government in protecting the lives and property of the citizenry

But its reaction, MACBAN said that for dignitaries such as the former governor of Plateau State, Senator Jonah David Jang and Senator Barnabas Gemade, to be in attendance where such a decision is taken calls for serious concern.

It said; “For people like Senator Jang and Gemade, who are supposed to advise the government on how to ensure peace but choose to distract the government and promote sentiment against another tribe, calls for investigation”.

Dabo also said that the Fulani group will use every legal means to protect its integrity and its people, alleging that the MBF is not happy with the achievement of the Federal Government in trying to ensure peace across the country.

MACBAN urged Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state to continue to ensure peace among all groups without sentiment.

It said that the Fulani’s had their occupation and had never envied anybody, yet, they have become a subject of ridicule and insult.

According to him; “The Fulani’s have never had it this bad except during the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, yet people are claiming that Buhari wants to Fulanise Nigeria”.

Dabo also urged Nigerians to dismiss the call for the arrest of their leaders while calling on Nigerian leaders to entrench peace among the people rather than destabilize them.
