BY SEGUN ADEBAYO – Stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna State, including former Vice President Architect Namadi Sambo and former Governors, have vowed to end the eight years rulership of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the State come this year’s general elections.

The two ex-Governors, joining forces with others in their boast to legitimately uproot the APC’s administration from the State, are Mohammed Ahmed Makarfi and Ramalan Yero.

The Stakeholders’ resolution came at the official campaign take off and flags’ presentation to PDP candidates for the various electoral positions in the Kaduna Central Senatorial district.

In his remarks, former Vice President Sambo, who was the Special Guest of honour at the occasion, challenged Nigerians and the good people of Kaduna state to come out en masse and vote for all PDP candidates in the forthcoming elections.

Also assuring the people of better days ahead, ex-Governor Yero and Senator Makarfi, urged all PDP members to unite, go back to their respective polling units, canvass for votes, and protect their votes until victory is achieved completely.

“We the former Governors of the State will guide the Governorship candidate of the party when voted accordingly,” Sen Makarfi assured the Stakeholders on behalf of his colleagues.

Similarly, the Forum witnessed goodwill messages from Senators Shehu Sani and Sani Bello (Mubeco) who charged Nigerians and  Kaduna residents to ensure that APC is not availed another opportunity of returning to power both at the state and national levels, warning that the suffering being experienced now will be a child’s play.

The campaign rally held at the Kaduna International Trade Fair Complex attracted massive crowd of Party’s supporters and well-wishers, with many top PDP stalwarts in attendance, including the former Group Managing Director (GMD) of Nigerian National Petroluem Corporation (NNPC), Engineer Andrew Yakubu and ex-Director-General of National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Sani Sidi among others.

Meanwhile, the controversies surrounding the Kaduna Central Senatorial district PDP primary election have finally been laid to rest with Mr Lawal Adamu (Mr LA) officially handed the Party’s flag as its candidate for the February 25 National Assembly poll.
