What My Boss, Ex-Konga CEO Told Me Moments Before He Died – Housemaid
A housemaid (names withheld) of the late former Chief Executive Officer of Nigerian e-commerce conglomerate, Konga, Nick Imudia, has disclosed the last conversation they had shortly before his death last week.
A close friend of the deceased, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that the housemaid revealed to him that the late Imudia called her a day earlier and handed her a piece of paper with five telephone numbers, including that of his brother living in the United States of America.
Quoting the maid, Imudia’s friend said; “She said Nick told her to keep the numbers, that she would need them at the appropriate time.
“Thereafter, he went into the bathroom and she heard the shower running, indicating that he was having his bath.
“She said after some time, she observed that the shower was still running and wondered what he could still be doing for so long.
“She knocked on the door, but there was no response and she left. Moments later, she said the private guard knocked on the door and informed her to come and see what had happened to Nick.
“She rushed downstairs and found him in a horrible state. Immediately, she rushed upstairs again and still met the shower on.
“By the time she opened the door, she discovered there was nobody in there,” the maid explained.
The late Imuda’s friend also said that the family of the Konga CEO had requested the release of his body for burial.
In a statement, the family ruled out suicide as the cause of his death, saying that he never showed any signs of stress and was never diagnosed as depressed at any point.
This was as it was gathered that detectives at the Homicide section of the State Criminal Investigative Department, Yaba, Lagos, investigating the cause of the death, may have questioned some persons concerning the death.
