The Hamma Batta of Demsa Chiefdom, His Royal Majesty, Homun Alhamdu Gladson Teneke, has implored religious leaders to leverage on their unique positions to mobilise members of the society for the needed peaceful coexistence.

He added that this will also enable them become effective support systems for one another, particularly in the face of the prevailing economic realities in the country.

Homun Teneke, who made the appeal while congratulating the immediate past Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Adamawa State chapter, Bishop Stephen Dami Mamza (Catholic Bishop of Yola Diocese) on the successful completion of two terms as Chairman of CAN, eulogised the Bishop’s sterling leadership qualities and empathetic human nature.

He particularly commended Bishop Manza for his contribution to not only development of Adamawa State, but the growth of the Church and the promotion of unity of purpose among the diverse denominations and ethnic groups in the society.

Homun Teneke also extolled the positive roles and contributions of Bishop Manza, especially during the wake of insurgency and in particular mobilising support for internally displaced persons, urging other religious and community leaders as well as well-meaning individuals to borrow a leaf from the exemplary leadership qualities and style of Bishop Mamza.
