The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has wielded its big stick against a member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Leke Abejide by expelling him from the party.

Hon. Abejide was expelled following what the ADC described as his “multiple acts of indiscipline”.

This was announced by Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, National Publicity Secretary of the ADC, shortly after a meeting of the National Working Committee of the Party on Thursday in Abuja.

Abdullahi said the adoption and approval of the expulsion of Abejide followed the recommendation from the Kogi State Executive Committee, which found Abejide’s conduct to be incompatible with the party’s principles and rules.

The ADC warned that it would not tolerate misconduct by any of its members, stressing that it would continue to strengthen a culture of discipline, integrity, and good character within the party.

Accordingly, the national leadership of the ADC directed the Kogi State leadership to fill all vacant positions at the Ward, Local Government, and State levels in line with previously issued transition guidelines.

The ADC further said that the timelines for the upcoming congresses will be announced in due course.
