Former President, Muhammadu Buhari has given reasons why he was absent at the Caucus and National Executive Committee (NEC), meetings of the All Progressives Congress (APC) that took place on Wednesday and Thursday in Abuja.

The National Caucus of the ruling Party held on Wednesday at the presidential Villa, Aso Rock while the NEC meeting took place at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja on Thursday.

Buhari, in a statement by his spokesperson, Mr. Garba Shehu on Wednesday, said that other pressing commitments made it impossible for him to attend the scheduled meetings.

He however, expressed his support and commitment to the party and apologised for his absence.

According to Shehu; “Buhari conveyed his apologies stating that he is unable to attend due to commitments earlier made.

“The former president is wishing the Party a good meeting, as the leaders take decisions on issues of importance to the party and the nation,” he said.
