Why I Dumped APC – Senator Magnus Abe Reveals
Senator Magnus Ngei Abe on Tuesday gave reasons for resigning his membership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
In his letter of resignation addressed to the National Chairman of the APC, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, the former Secretary to the State Government in Rivers State said that his decision to quit the Party is not unconnected with the seeming unwillingness of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to negotiate with him yet, expected him to remain in the APC.
Abe, in the letter he copied the APC Ward 16 Chairman, Gokana Local Government Area, and the Rivers State chairman of the APC, said that he shall tell Nigerians his next political decision in the coming days.
The resignation letter reads in part; “I wish to tender my resignation of membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC). My decision to quit is not unconnected with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s seeming unwillingness to negotiate with me since he expects me to remain in the APC. Hence my resolve to seek an alternative platform to actualize my Gubernatorial Ambition in Rivers State.
“I feel it is time to move on with my Ambition, having served this country as a Lawmaker in the Rivers State House of Assembly, SSG of Rivers State, and Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“Let me also use this moment to thank my teeming supporters, and some of those that defected from the APC, for standing by me in all these years, more importantly, H.E Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he said.
