…Alleges, Ayu collected N1billion from a presidential candidate in Lagos

Embittered presidential aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has given reasons why he is pained for losing party primary to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

Wike, who spoke with selected television stations on Friday in Port Harcourt, said that he is pained that he would not be able to fight terrorists and oil theft squarely.

He also said that he is hugely pained that he was unable to win the PDP’s presidential primary from where he had planned to go on to battle the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Governor Wike, who has been vibrating and crying foul since after the PDP presidential primary and the refusal of Atiku to pick him as the vice presidential candidate, said what he regrets most is the fact that he would not have the opportunity to implement what he desired for Nigeria particularly the fight against insecurity and oil theft.

In the words of Wike; “I’m pained that I wasn’t able to fight Bandits and oil theft. These were two things I told myself I was going to do. I said I was going to fight terrorists and oil theft squarely”.

Governor Wike also alleged that the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Iyorchia Ayu took money from a presidential candidate in Lagos State and challenged Ayu to deny the claims, saying that he has evidence.

The Embittered Rivers governor however, did not mention the presidential candidate whom Ayu collected the money from, adding that the money was not paid into PDP‘s account.

Wike further said; “Will he deny the fact that he did not collect one billion naira from Lagos? Yes, let him deny it, I will tell him who gave him the money. Not Lagos state government, but someone in Lagos. The money was given to him in Lagos. He met one of the presidential aspirants and told him he was not sure state governors would want to sponsor the party.

“Let Ayu say no, I will even call some of the businessmen and how the money was arranged in Lagos. That money did not enter the account of PDP. But we are not attacking Ayu on that basis,” he enthused.

Reiterating his call for Ayu’s resignation, Wike said the issue as it is today is that as it is provided in the constitution of the party that there shall be zoning of party offices and elective offices.

According to him; “It is made clear and what should be and what should be done. People in the system now manipulate things and would not let the public know the truth”.
