…Says, no topping him from visiting any part of Nigeria

Former governor of Anambra State and 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Mr. Peter Obi, has declared that he is committed and determined to see Nigeria work, thus committed to participating in the democratic process to contest the 2027 presidential election on the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

This was as Obi stressed that no individual or group can stop him from visiting any part of Nigeria.
The presidential aspirant said that the country needed reforms that would create opportunities for citizens and strengthen institutions, saying; “We want a country where the son of a nobody can become somebody without knowing anybody”.

He however, said that while he is not desperate to be the President of Nigeria, but determined to see Nigeria work because he believes that it is possible for Nigeria to work if the right and needed leadership is put in place.

Commenting on his recent visit to Benin, the Edo State capital where he escaped assassination, Obi insisted that nobody can stop him from visiting any state, emphasising that every citizen has the constitutional right to move freely across the country.

In the words of Obi; “I am a Nigerian and I am free to go to any part of this country. It is a constitutional right that nobody can take away from me”.

Obi, who stated these when he visited Peter University, Achina, in Anambra State, said that he travelled to Rivers State despite warnings advising him not to go to the State.

Obi explained that his decision to leave the Labour Party for the ADC was a result of internal leadership disputes within the party which were obviously externally induced just as he expressed concerns about the handling of court judgments related to the matter.

According to Obi; “The developments influenced my decision to move to another platform ahead of the next electoral cycle”.
